According to Harvard Health Publications, here’s the skinny on the science of addiction: The brain registers all pleasures in the same way, whether they originate with a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a sexual encounter, a satisfying meal, [or social media “like”.]

In the brain, pleasure has a distinct signature: the release of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the nucleus accumbens, a cluster of nerve cells lying underneath the cerebral cortex. Empaths are born with central nervous system sensitization.

Our aptitude for feeling things intensely, and understanding what’s happening in the minds of others, predisposes us to depression and addiction. We literally feel what others are feeling, which can be a good thing — or not so much. Emotions are energy vibrating at different frequencies. Joy and love, for example, are high-vibe while guilt and shame are low-vibe. These vibrations impact our vitality and thus, our mental state and quality of life. We then have a toxic build up of low-vibe emotions stored in our tissues, coursing through our veins, and making us feel like crap.

The Max Detox by Creative Health was formulated so we can rid our bodies of both psychical and mental toxic build ups so we can continue on the journey to enlightenment a little smoother. Check out the ingredients tab to see what magic formula lies in each bottle.

Psyllium Powder - Psyllium is a type of fiber commonly used as a gentle, bulk-forming laxative. Psyllium is a soluble fiber derived from the seeds of Plantago ovata, an herb mainly grown in India. Psyllium husk is the main active ingredient in Metamucil, a fiber supplement often used to reduce constipation.

Acai Berry Fruit Extract - Acai berries are a Brazilian "superfruit." They're native to the Amazon region where they're a staple food. In animal and test-tube studies, acai has shown potential as an anti-cancer agent. More studies are needed to determine its effect in humans.

Acai may counteract the damaging effects of inflammation and oxidation in the brain and help stimulate its "housekeeping" response.

Slippery Elm Bark –  Slippery elm, or Ulmus rubra, is a tree native to the central and eastern United States and Ontario, Canada. The tree is known for its dark brown to reddish brown bark and can reach a height of 60-80 feet. Native Americans would peel its slimy, red inner bark from twigs and branches and use it as a remedy for many common ailments, like fevers, wounds, and sore throats. Recent studies have shown that slippery elm bark can help treat the symptoms associated with inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

Aloe Ferox Powder 18% - Like most medicinal herbs, Aloe ferox has a host of other health benefits as well. Numerous scientific studies on aloe gel are demonstrating its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, wound healing, immune modulating, and anti-tumor activities as well as antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.

Chlorella - Chlorella is a single-celled, freshwater alga, native to Taiwan and Japan, that is naturally rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Its reported benefits include boosting antibody count, promoting weight-loss, and fighting cancer and other diseases.

Black Walnut Hulls Powder – Black walnut is typically touted as a natural remedy for health problems such as: Asthma, constipation, diabetes, heartburn, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. In addition, black walnut is said to protect against heart disease, cancer, and infections caused by an overgrowth of yeast (such as yeast infections, candida, and thrush.)

Ginger Root - Ginger is a  popular spice. It is high in gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Hyssop Leap - Hyssop is used for digestive and intestinal problems including liver and gallbladder conditions, intestinal pain, intestinal gas, colic, and loss of appetite. It is also used for respiratory problems including coughs, the common cold, respiratory infections, sore throat, and asthma.
